Shelley Kolosey is a devoted wife, mother of two, and a compassionate professional with a lifelong passion for equine-assisted therapy. As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) and a PATH Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor (CTRI), she brings over 15 years of experience supporting individuals with disabilities. Since 2009, Shelley has worked with clients of all ages, specializing in enhancing safety, navigation, and mobility for those with visual impairments. She is skilled in using specialized tools and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop personalized, achievable goals.
Shelley’s love for horses began in early childhood, where she persistently asked Santa for a horse. She started riding at age 11—a transformative experience that ignited her lifelong dedication to equine therapy. Despite financial challenges, she volunteered tirelessly, working for lessons and gaining years of training in horsemanship and riding skills. After pausing to pursue her career, Shelley returned to her passion in 2022, undergoing rigorous training to become a CTRI. This certification qualifies her to deliver therapeutic riding lessons tailored to individuals with physical, cognitive, or emotional disabilities, adhering to PATH International’s safety and best practices.
In September 2024, Shelley welcomed Ruby, her first horse and a cherished partner in providing therapeutic services. Together, Shelley and Ruby are committed to sharing the healing, transformative power of horses, helping others thrive and achieve their goals.
